Going shoe shopping

The boys needed new shoes. Typically Amazon would be my go-to, because I don't like shopping with all 3 in tow, BUT their feet have grown and I wasn't sure of sizes. The terrible feeling sets in...I have to go shopping with all of them. Not just, "touch the cart while I push it, and I grab a few things". Nope. It is going to be crazed-hot mess mom doing this: - raising my voice at #1 trying to get him to not take every single pair of shoes out of the boxes - trying to get #2 to make a decision  - helping #3 try the shoes on Did I mention #3 didn't wear socks?? So I had the pleasure of shoving sweaty, wiggly four year old stinky feet into shoes, while #1 talked to every single person and touched every single shoe, while #2 needed help and was running all over the store to "test how fast my new energy light shoes are!".  I didn't even know "energy light shoes" existed, but now we are proud owners of three pairs.  There wa...

Kids playing and bugs bitting in the forecast!

As we speak, there are 5 boys running around sword fighting and screaming. Last night these kids stayed outside until 8 pm. I am so happy it is Spring! I love lazy evenings outside while the kids run around. There is nothing better than being outside with the sounds of kids playing (with a glass of wine), dogs barking, music on the speaker and the smell of charcoal from the grill. I am going to enjoy every damn minute outside before it is 100 million degrees outside! Texas Heat is no joke! Speaking of outside... living in Texas means bugs and mosquitoes! I hate those blood sucking things. If you find your kiddo (or you) has been bitten, try putting Lavender essential oil on the bite. It helps soothe, and you can apply Lavender directly and neat on the bite. Peppermint is also good for cooling (use carrier oil), and Tea Tree (u...

I am back..and it is even louder than before

Hello friends! These past few years have been crazy...filled with moves, potty training, kids starting grade school, and teaching yoga (among many other things). My anxiety was out the roof so finding time to blog was non-existent, BUT I have decided to take a break from teaching yoga and focus on the new company I started, Rooted Ritual, and my family. I am excited to share recipes, stories and tips with my blog. Mainly as a way to vent, share and have fun. This blog will include areas like outdoor play for kids, natural remedies, funny stories to help lighten the crazy that is parenthood, Rooted Ritual happenings, and yoga. This blog is intended to help promote natural living but in a real life setting. I mean sometimes fast food happens, right?!? Or maybe turning into psycho mommy over a candy wrapper on the floor, it happens! So pour a glass of wine, tell your kids to go outside and read a new DIY recipe or yoga tip from my blog "It's Going To Be Loud". Glad to be ba...
